LEAP 2025 TESTING
May 2, 2022 - May 6, 2022
Parents, LEAP 2025 testing has arrived here at Park Woods Middle School, please be advised that LEAP Testing will be from May 2, 2022 and cease on May vi, 2022. All students must exist physically in the edifice for Bound testing purposes. Please ensure that yous practice not schedule any doctor'south appointments nor dentist appointments during the week of testing. Also to ensure that your child has ample opportunity and fourth dimension to do their best please ensure that you child is here on fourth dimension for LEAP Testing. Do not bring them in late for whatsoever reason every bit nosotros want to brainstorm testing with everyone on time to start together.
BUS TRANSPORTATION FOR
2022-2023 SCHOOL YEAR
The East Billy Rouge Parish School System Transportation Section is employing a new transportation Opt-In Program for the 2022-2023 school year. The Opt-In Program is designed for families of school-anile children who plan to take the school coach to go to or from school.
Families who choose not to complete the survey will exist responsible for transporting their student(s) to and from schoolhouse.
If parents choose not to opt-in for bus services, it will not touch their child(ren)'s ability to ride district-provided transportation to field trips, athletics events, during emergency evacuations, etc.
If you do non consummate the transportation asking form on the district website, you will be responsible for transporting your child to and from school.
Students who live within a one-mile radius from their home school are to exist self-transported.
Parents may opt-in at whatsoever fourth dimension with the link provided below, and a charabanc road and stop will be assigned to the kid(ren).

TEACHER OF THE YEAR
A Baton Rouge native and graduate of Southern University A&M College, Wintertime D. McCray is a dancer, choreographer, and the founder of Winter Dance Company in Billy Rouge, LA where they serve over 150 students ranging from ages 3 years – developed. Winter is a highly recognized Dance Instructor with Dance & Gym USA and is a member of the National Dance Education Organization. Winter also serves on the Artist Advisory Board for the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge. This is her 8th year equally the director of the Trip the light fantastic Programme at Park Forest Middle Schoolhouse.
Congratulations Ms. McCray! You are truly deserving of this award.

Educatee OF THE Twelvemonth
Yeimi Juarez is the 2021 - 2022 Student of the Year for Park Forest Eye Creative Sciences and Arts Magnet. Originally from San Pedro Sula, Honduras, Yeimi and her family unit came to the U.s.a. for a ameliorate life, more rewarding opportunities, and quality educational systems. This svelte scholar is a fellow member of the Creative Sciences and Arts Magnet Program, Junior Corps Cadets, and the Volleyball Team. Fluent in English language and Spanish, Yeimi has been on the A Accolade Roll throughout her middle school years. Because of her love of dogs, Yeimi aspires to become a veterinarian.

MAGNET APPLICATION Menses
2022 - 2023
The 2022-2023 Magnet application flow will begin Monday, October 4, 2021, and extend until July 15, 2022, with clearly defined selection points. Unlike previous application periods, the enrollment portal volition remain open even if seats are unavailable for a programme. Applicants who apply by December 3, 2021, volition be selected for seats first based on the board-approved selection process. Eligible applicants who apply after Dec three, 2021, will be placed in a waiting pool if seats are no longer available.
Students who are eligible for a program will be selected for an available seat based on when they applied for a plan and designated as follows and must be marked eligible within the fourth dimension frame that an awarding was submitted:
